There’s this idea that being a “maker” means you need a workshop full of tools and years of experience.
Not here.
If you’ve ever built with LEGO, tried a paint-by-number, fixed something that broke, cooked something from scratch or made a first attempt that didn’t go perfectly-you’re a maker.
At JC Squared, we don’t gatekeep. We don’t set limits on who “counts.” We’re here for the pro with 50 years in the trades–and the person who’s just starting to make things for the first time.
What makes someone a maker?
Simple: you make things.
Or you want to. That’s enough.
What makes JC Squared different?
A lot of makerspaces focus on tool access: here’s the shop, here’s the equipment, have at it.
We’re building something different.
JC Squared is designed to provide a foundation for growth-whether you’re:
- a hobbyist making for fun
- starting to sell a few things on the side
- or working toward becoming a full-time professional at your craft
In other words: we’re not just creating a place to make things. We’re building a space (and community) that helps makers level up-skills, confidence, and the next steps that turn “I made this once” into “I can make this again-and maybe even sell it.”
We’re not open yet (and we’re doing it right)
JC Squared Makerspace isn’t open today. We’re building toward a digital launch in Spring 2026 and a physical launch in Fall 2026, and we’re shaping it around the makers who will use it.

No matter your starting point-you belong
Whether you’re here to have fun, make cool stuff, build a side hustle, or chase something bigger: if you make things (or want to), you’re one of us.
